Our life cycle assessment study

December 07, 2023

We wanted to know: how climate-friendly is our AI? 🤖🌱

👨‍🎓 Over the past few months, we have conducted a life cycle assessment study in cooperation with Nicolas Hübner, a research associate at the Technical University of Berlin. The study analyzed the direct and indirect environmental impact of our artificial intelligence.

The following parameters, among others, were taken into account:

  • Direct effects: such as power consumption and the production of servers required for AI
  • Indirect effects through the reduction of food waste

📊 The result: significantly higher savings in all environmental categories thanks to our AI. The savings made by our artificial intelligence are even 1,400 times higher than the direct negative impact in terms of global warming potential. That makes us very happy and motivates us!
