IT System Administrator (m/f/d)
We are a tech start-up from Cologne that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to reduce food waste. We have developed an AI that analyzes historical sales figures from bakeries, restaurants and food retailers and combines them with important influencing factors to create an automated sales forecast for the next day's order. In this way, we help to ensure that less food ends up in the garbage can.
What you move with us:
- Support for cloud solutions (e.g. AWS, Azure) and on-premise servers.
- Implement backup and recovery strategies.
- Installation and further development of a data transmission tool.
- Maintenance and optimization of databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Ensuring data integrity and security.
- Implementation and monitoring of IT security measures (e.g. firewalls, anti-virus programs, access rights).
- Carrying out regular security checks and penetration tests.
- Technical support for employees (first and second level support).
- Management of user accounts, rights and access logs.
- Installation, configuration and maintenance of operating systems (Linux, Windows) and applications.
- Monitoring and maintenance of the IT infrastructure (servers, laptops, peripherals).
- Development of scripts (e.g. Bash, PowerShell, Python) for the automation of processes.
- Integration of tools to increase efficiency.
- Collaboration with the development and data science team on the implementation of new features.
- Technical support for the integration of external systems.
- Creating and maintaining IT documentation (system architecture, processes).
- Training employees on new IT systems and security protocols.
What you bring:
- Completed training in the field of IT (e.g. IT specialist for system integration) or a degree in computer science, information technology or similar.
- Sound knowledge of cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Microsoft Azure) and their management.
- Several years of professional experience in the administration of IT systems, ideally in a hybrid environment (cloud and on-premise).
- Experience in database administration and knowledge of backup and recovery strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of operating systems and their configuration.
- Experience in network security and implementation of IT security measures.
- Sound knowledge in the development and optimization of scripts (e.g. Bash, PowerShell, Python) for process automation.
- Independent, analytical, structured and careful way of working.
- Strong service and customer orientation.
- Ability to work in a team and under pressure.
- German language skills of at least C1 level, English is an advantage.

- Optimization of the data connection between different platforms (e.g. AWS, RDS, S3).
